The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology (VJIT), in association with IEEE Branch VJIT, successfully organized the Inaugural Ceremony of the “IEEE RA-S Student Branch Chapter” followed by a guest lecture on “Igniting Innovation: The IEEE Path to Future Technologies” on 13th August 2025 at the E- Block Seminar Hall, ECE Department. The session was delivered by Prof. Saikumar Tara, Member, Global IEEE GRSS IDEA, USA, and served as an inspiring platform for students and faculty to explore innovative pathways in engineering and emerging technologies.
Inaguration Ceremony:
The inaugural ceremony commenced with the ceremonial Jyothi Prajwalana followed by a prayer song. The event was graced by the presence of distinguished guests:

The inaugural ceremony of the IEEE RA-S Student Branch Chapter was followed by a Guest Lecture on “Igniting Innovation: The IEEE Path to Future Technologies.”
The convener, Dr. P. Nageswara Rao, extended a warm welcome to all the attendees and introduced the objectives of the IEEE RA-S Student Branch Chapter.
In his address, Dr. P. Nageswara Rao, Convener of the event, Professor & Head of the ECE Department, VJIT, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the significance of establishing the IEEE RA-S Student Branch Chapter in fostering innovation, collaboration, and professional development among students.
Mrs. T. Swapna Rani, Co-convenor and IEEE VJIT SB Counsellor, spoke about the active participation of the IEEE Student Branch at VJIT and the various opportunities it provides for students to engage in global technical communities.
The Faculty Coordinators, Dr. S. Pradeep Kumar Reddy, Mrs. J. Sudha Rani, and Mr. G. Ravi Kishore, emphasized the importance of IEEE membership and technical activities in nurturing leadership and technical expertise among students.
The Chief Guest and Resource Person, Prof. Saikumar Tara, Member, Global IEEE GRSS IDEA, USA, delivered an inspiring lecture on “Igniting Innovation: The IEEE Path to Future Technologies.” He urged the students to leverage IEEE platforms to innovate, publish research, and actively contribute to the fields of Robotics and Automation.
