Overview

Sports play an important role in shaping up the personality and fitness of a person and to give a truly global experience to all the students of VJIT. Sports environments matching global standards are provided at the college.
VJIT College is founded in 1999, since the inception college has been actively involved in sports and has been undisputed champions in Games like Cricket, Volleyball, Kabaddi, Badminton, Basketball, Wrestling, Boxing, Chess and Table Tennis.
College has a very good infrastructure of volleyball courts, basketball court, kabaddi courts, cricket ground and nets, and Table Tennis Hall which accommodates 06 TT tables. Also has a Gym with latest Gym equipment’s.
Hall which accommodates a space of more than 10 Carom Boards, and 10 Chess Boards. Massive hall which is dedicated to the sport Wrestling and Boxing where champions are made.
College has a outdoor games facility with games like, Volley ball (2 courts) , Throwball (1 court) , Basketball (Synthetic Acrylic Basketball court) Kabaddi 2 (Courts) Kho kho field, Football field, Cricket Ground.

Dr. J Ramesh Babu is a dedicated educator with 23 years of experience in Physical Education. He is an ardent guide in instilling among the students, the importance of lifelong learning, maintaining good health and fitness. He is a Life Members in the National Association of Physical Education and Sports Science, (NAPESS). He is a Member of JNTU Sports Council Selection Committee for Table Tennis, Badminton and Hand Ball, and a permanent Table Tennis Coach & Manager for JNT University Men & Women Teams.

Events

Phoenix (Inter-College Tournament)
Phoenix is the annual Sports fest of VJIT and is definitely one of the best. It is a 3-day festival held every year. Teams from all over Hyderabad and Telangana make it a point to participate in the events of Phoenix as the huge campus of VJIT has made the fest a huge hit and the contingency system has made Phoenix quite popular. Phoenix is a 3-day extravaganza offering student-athletes an ideal opportunity to show their talents. The Sports fest has an effulgent history since its inception and is organized with great fervor every year. The bustle of student-athletes from renowned institutes and contenders from various colleges are increasing and expanding effective participation in all events, creating a tougher challenge for both organizers and participants to put extensive efforts. Phoenix is just not about the 3 days of sportsmanship but to keep up the spirit of sportsmanship burning in the hearts of all with the team of experienced trainers makes it complete.

Annual Sports:
Every year sports, games and cultural activities are organized for the students. Naturally, the student community enjoys each and every moment of the competitions with active participation and spirited performances. Faculty members of the institution also participate actively in sports and games competitions.

Zonal Tournaments:
As a part of the JNTU zonal tournaments our college teams, both boys and girls participate actively in all the sports and game tournaments every year.

Inter-University Tournaments:
Boys and girls are trained and encouraged to participate actively in the University team selections and the students selected to represent the university teams are encouraged with all facilities to participate in the South-zone inter-university and All-India inter-university tournaments.
Apart from these regular activities, our players participate in many invitation tournaments and inter-college tournaments in and around the state.
