The Department of Management Studies, Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology, successfully organized an industrial visit to Godrej Creamline Dairy Limited, Uppal, Hyderabad, for MBA I Year students on 2nd and 3rd May 2025. Students from Section A visited the plant on 2nd May, followed by Section B on 3rd May.
Visit Overview
The students assembled at the college campus by 9:00 AM, dressed in formal blazers as per the guidelines. The journey to the plant began at 9:30 AM in the college bus. Upon arrival, the students were greeted by Mr. Anjaneyulu, HR Manager, who facilitated and coordinated the visit.
Orientation Session
The visit began with an engaging orientation session where students were introduced to:
- The legacy and growth of Godrej Creamline Dairy Ltd.
- The company’s core operations and contributions to the Indian dairy industry.
- Emphasis on quality control, supply chain efficiency, and technological advancements.
Departmental Walkthrough
Students were guided through various critical departments at the plant, including:
- Milk Procurement & Quality Testing: Insight into raw milk sourcing, preliminary checks, and hygiene protocols.
- Processing & Pasteurization Units: Detailed explanation of how milk is treated, processed, and preserved.
- Packaging Section: Overview of automated packaging lines ensuring product integrity and shelf-life.
- Cold Storage & Dispatch Area: Handling of finished goods, temperature control, and logistics planning.
- Human Resource and Safety Department: Discussion on labor practices, safety measures, and employee engagement programs.
Interactive Learning
Throughout the visit, students interacted with plant supervisors and technical staff, gaining first-hand knowledge of:
- The end-to-end dairy supply chain
- Integration of process automation in day-to-day operations
- The company’s employee welfare initiatives and human resource practices
Conclusion
The visit to Godrej Creamline Dairy Ltd. served as a valuable learning experience, bridging academic concepts with real-world industrial practices. It offered MBA students practical insights into operations management, supply chain logistics, quality control, and human resource management, enriching their understanding of the corporate environment.
