Introduction
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized an insightful Engineers’ Day Guest Lecture on 15 September 2026 as part of the Engineers’ Day celebrations at Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology (VJIT), Hyderabad.
The programme was organized with the objective of providing students with valuable industry-oriented insights and creating awareness about the technical skills, professional competencies and practical knowledge expected from electrical engineering graduates in the rapidly evolving engineering landscape.
The central theme of the programme, “Bridging the Gap Between Electrical Engineering Education and Industry Needs,” focused on establishing a strong connection between classroom learning and real-world engineering applications. The programme featured two accomplished professionals who shared their professional experiences, industry insights and valuable guidance with the students.
1. Mr. Tejavath Jagadeesh
Technical Lead, L&T Technology Services Pvt. Ltd.
Mr. Tejavath Jagadeesh shared valuable insights from his professional journey and experiences, including his association with IIT Madras. He spoke about the importance of perseverance, discipline and continuous learning in achieving professional success.
He explained the expectations of the engineering industry from fresh graduates and emphasized the need for students to go beyond theoretical knowledge by developing practical and industry-relevant skills. He encouraged students to actively explore emerging technologies, strengthen their technical competencies and convert their academic knowledge into practical engineering capabilities.

2. Mr. B. Mahender

Mr. B. Mahender, an alumnus of VJIT’s Electrical and Electronics Engineering department, shared his experiences and insights from his professional journey.
He emphasized the importance of developing strong fundamentals in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and encouraged students to cultivate a genuine interest in their core subjects.
