The Department of Civil Engineering, Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology (Autonomous), Hyderabad, successfully organized a One Week Online Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Emerging Technologies & Sustainable Practices in Civil Engineering (ETSPCE-26)” from 09th to 13th March 2026. The program aimed to provide a platform for academicians, researchers, and professionals to discuss recent advancements, innovative technologies, and sustainable practices in the field of Civil Engineering.
The program received an overwhelming response from the academic and professional community. Nearly 450 participants registered for the FDP at both national and international levels, reflecting its wide outreach and relevance. The participants included faculty members, research scholars, and industry professionals, from various reputed institutions.
Notably, the FDP witnessed National participation from 23 states across the country and international participation from countries such as Bangladesh, China, Ethiopia, Malaysia, Oman, South Africa, and Zambia, highlighting the global significance of the themes addressed during the program.
The Inaugural Session of the FDP was hosted by Mrs. Y. Suneetha, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering. The inaugural address was delivered by Dr. N. Sudharsan, Head of the Department, Civil Engineering, who highlighted the importance of integrating emerging technologies with sustainable practices in modern infrastructure development. This was followed by the address of Dr. A. Srujana, Principal, who emphasized the need for continuous learning and knowledge sharing among faculty members and researchers to address contemporary challenges in civil engineering.
