The HR Club of VJIT conducted an insightful activity titled “Synergy” on 8th May 2025, focusing on different types of interviews. This interactive session was designed to enhance students’ understanding of interview formats, question framing, and real-time response strategies through mock interviews.

Activity Overview

  • A total of 30 students participated in the activity.
  • Students were divided into 6 groups, with 5 members in each group.
  • Each group was assigned a specific type of interview format:
    • Structured Interview
    • Unstructured Interview
    • Stress Interview
    • Panel Interview
    • Behavioral Interview
    • Telephonic Interview

Task Structure

  • Each group was given 30 minutes to frame 20 questions based on their assigned interview type.
  • Post preparation, teams conducted mock interviews by interviewing students from other groups using the questions they created.
  • The activity was designed to simulate a real interview environment and promote experiential learning.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Conceptual Clarity: Students gained practical understanding of various interview types and learned how to frame appropriate, role-specific questions.
  2. Confidence Building: Participants experienced both the interviewer and interviewee roles, enhancing their ability to handle diverse interview scenarios.
  3. Response Strategies: The activity improved students’ skills in answering questions thoughtfully and confidently under different conditions, including high-pressure environments like stress interviews.

Conclusion

The “Synergy” mock interview activity successfully blended theoretical knowledge with practical experience. It empowered students with essential employability skills such as communication, analytical thinking, and adaptability—vital for cracking real-world interviews.
