Overview The SC/ST/OBC Cell in the institute promotes the special interests of students in the reserved category and to guide the students to optimally utilize the benefits of the schemes offered by the Government of India. The newly constituted SC/ST/OBC cell in VJIT adheres to the guidelines of the Government of India as communicated by MHRD and AICTE with respect to the upliftment of the students and employees belonging to the SC/ST/OBC categories and other weaker classes.The basic functions of the Committee:
  • The Cell adheres to provide special inputs in areas where the students experience difficulties.
  • Practices/follows the Article 16(4) – Equality of opportunity in matters of public.
  • As per Article 335, the claims of the members of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes shall be taken into consideration, consistently with the maintenance of efficiency of administration.
  • The Cell shall conduct regular remedial coaching classes on life skills, personality development, writing assignments and making presentations.
  • The Cell also shall organize interactive sessions and informal meetings with students to attend to their personal, social and academic problems.
  • Conducting/Coordinating Training Programmes for Students and Staff : Teaching and Non-Teaching
  • To bring the students belonging to SC/ST/OBC community in par with the main stream student body.
  • Create a platform where students can point out their problems – regarding academic and non-academic matters.
  • Function as a Grievance Redressal cell for the grievances of SC/ST/OBC students and employees.
  • Plan activities to develop the self-confidence of SC/ST/OBC students.
  • Create awareness, instill values and develop the personality and leadership quality among the students and staff members.
  • Organize seminars, workshops relating to SC/ST/OBC development
