Venue: VJIT Campus, Hyderabad

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at VJIT, in collaboration with Supraja Technologies, successfully organized the “Cyberonix Level 1” – a 3-Day Workshop on Ethical Hacking & Cybersecurity, followed by a one-day Hackathon. The primary aim of the event was to provide students with hands-on training in cybersecurity, equipping them with practical skills to complement their academic knowledge.

Day 1: Inauguration & Workshop Commencement (11th August 2025)

The workshop was inaugurated with a welcome address by Dr. D. Aruna Kumari, HoD & Professor, CSE Department. The session was presided over by the Principal, Dr. A. Srujana, who stressed the growing significance of cybersecurity in today’s digital era.

Mr. Ch. Santosh, CEO of Supraja Technologies, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the practical applications of ethical hacking and the career opportunities in the cybersecurity domain.

A special moment of recognition was the distribution of offer letters to three outstanding students from the previous year’s hackathon. The day concluded with an engaging introductory session on Ethical Hacking, including demonstrations of real-time security threats.

Day 2 & 3: Hands-On Training (12th – 13th August 2025)

The following two days were dedicated to intensive, hands-on training sessions conducted by experts from Supraja Technologies. The modules covered included:

  • Email & Social Media Security – Identifying phishing and social engineering attacks
  • Web Application Attacks & Preventive Measures – Detecting and securing application vulnerabilities
  • Mobile Platform Security – Safeguarding mobile devices from evolving threats
  • System & Server Exploits – Strengthening backend infrastructure with defensive strategies

To support practical learning, every participant was provided with a licensed cybersecurity toolkit containing essential software and resources.

Day 4: Hackathon & Valedictory (14th August 2025)

The final day featured a competitive Hackathon, where 45 student teams showcased their problem-solving skills by tackling real-world cybersecurity challenges.

A panel of experts from Supraja Technologies evaluated the teams based on innovation, technical proficiency, and problem-solving ability. The top six teams were declared winners and recognized for their outstanding performance.

Outcomes & Key Takeaways

The workshop and hackathon had a profound impact, resulting in several noteworthy outcomes:

  • Practical Exposure: Over 164 students gained valuable insights into cybersecurity practices and tools widely used in the industry.
  • Internship Opportunities: The top six winning teams were offered internships at Supraja Technologies, giving them the chance to work on live projects.
  • Holistic Learning: Students benefited from a perfect balance of theoretical sessions, hands-on training, and competitive application, ensuring well-rounded learning.

Conclusion

The collaboration between VJIT and Supraja Technologies successfully bridged the gap between academia and industry, empowering students with essential skills in Ethical Hacking and Cybersecurity.

This initiative not only enhanced technical competence but also inspired students to pursue careers in cybersecurity, marking a significant step in preparing the next generation of cybersecurity professionals.
