“The Higher and Bigger You Grow, The Better.”

To encourage self-expression, creativity, and confidence among women students, the Women Empowerment Cell (WEC) of Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology organized a series of Grooming Competitions on December 17, 2017. The initiative aimed at nurturing the all-round personality development of young women—encouraging them to grow not just academically, but personally and creatively as well.
Under the theme “The Higher and Bigger You Grow, The Better,” the event featured diverse competitions that allowed students to showcase their unique talents and skills. The activities included:
- Mehendi Competition – A celebration of tradition and artistry, participants beautifully expressed intricate designs with natural henna.
- Hair Styling Competition – Creativity was on full display as students styled elegant and trendy looks, showcasing both fashion sense and technique.
- Rangoli Competition – With vibrant colors and geometric finesse, the rangoli entries added festive charm and reflected cultural richness.
- Essay Writing Competition – Participants articulated their thoughts on relevant topics, highlighting their intellectual and reflective abilities.
- Debate Competition – With sharp arguments and confident presentations, students voiced their opinions on socially impactful issues, fostering a spirit of critical thinking and dialogue.
The event saw active participation and enthusiasm from girl students across departments. It not only provided a platform to exhibit personal flair but also strengthened their soft skills and public presence.
Through initiatives like these, the WEC continues to support the vision of creating confident, expressive, and empowered women—ready to take on challenges with poise and purpose.
