The Civil Engineering Department of Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology (VJIT) hosted a One-Day Certification Course on Remedial Waterproofing Techniques on 20th August 2024 in collaboration with Dr. Fixit Training Institute and the ICI Student Chapter.
The session was led by Mr. Goutham Sur, Training Manager at Dr. Fixit, Hyderabad, who shared valuable insights into the importance of waterproofing in construction. He addressed common issues like water leakage, dampness, and cracks and discussed effective remedial techniques such as crack injection, surface coatings, and waterproof membranes. The course emphasized selecting the right waterproofing solutions based on the type and severity of damage.
Students had an engaging learning experience, with an interactive Q&A session that allowed them to seek expert guidance on real-world industry challenges. The event provided a strong foundation in waterproofing techniques, equipping students with practical knowledge essential for their careers in civil engineering.
