TASK LOCATION : Sri Keerthana Foundation, Hasthinapuram
EVENT SUMMARY:
On our visit to an orphanage in Hasthinapuram, we discovered that the students there were devoid of resources like proper books. We observed that the students found it tough to cope up with the modern
educational methods through online platforms. As part of Project Kitaab,
We have repaired and restored a room into a library. As the walls were found to be broken, we filled the gaps and painted them. Along with this, few tiles were also found to be broken and were hence replaced .
For the books, we established a Book Donation Drive. We then also purchased few essential books (which we did not receive through book donations).
Finally, we stacked up books from Encyclopedias to Telugu Akademi books in the shelves. With this, we have created a library-like atmosphere in the room where students could come in at any time and fetch good books and study conveniently.
