The Civil Engineering Department of Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology (VJIT) organized a workshop on Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS) on 4th October 2023, by the speaker Mr.Shanmukha AS. Reddy puli. The workshop aimed to disseminate knowledge about GGBS and its applications in the construction industry. It brought together experts, industry professionals, and stakeholders to discuss the benefits, challenges, and best practices related to GGBS usage. Students acquired knowledge on advantages of GGBS, environmental and sustainability benefits of using GGBS and insights into the production, quality control, and sourcing of GGBS. The event served as a catalyst for increased awareness and collaboration within the construction industry, fostering a commitment to sustainability and environmentally responsible practices.
