A lecture on ”Employability skills and career opportunities in the new era” was organized by the Computer Science and Engineering department of VJIT on 18th October 2012. The guest speaker was Mr MSR Murthy, Delivery Head of TCS Hyderabad. The lecture was attended by CSE, IT, ECE & Mechanical Engineering students of B. Tech 3rd & 4th Year. Mr Murthy highlighted the wide range of employment opportunities in the new globalized world for young engineers passing out of colleges. Specifically, he emphasized on the key skills, both hard and soft, required to grab these opportunities. The lecture was more of an interactive session in the form of question answers where a number of students from different branches actively participated. College Management believes lectures of this kind will immensely help students in their placement as they can identify their gaps to get into industry very early and work on to fill them rather than facing the interview panels unprepared towards the end of their studies.
