‘32 Years and Healing’ is the theme of UN General Assembly to celebrate 32 years of global cooperation in protecting ozone layer. To augment the ardour, the faculty of Chemistry Dept (H&S), VJIT have raised the slogan, ‘Save Ozone, else You May Lie in No Zone’ advocating and inciting the urge to save our planet. In this regard, Essay Writing and Poster Presentation Competitions were organized to escalate the awareness and boost the alacrity of the students in addressing this global emergency.
Our first year students have shown fervor to participate in these competitions. Around 50 students participated in essay writing competition and 35 teams presented posters which were eloquent in educating us on how to phase down the hazardous practices of humans that jeopardize the very existence of our planet earth.
The competitions found students sharing their awareness on reasons for climate changes, the issues related to the depletion of Ozone layer and the threat posed by the use of ozone depletion gasses.
