Women’s Day was celebrated in the campus on 01.03.2014. The chief Guest for the occasion was Ms. Bhavana, Sr HR Manager of Tata Consultancy Services.
The programme started with the prayer song. Later the lamp was lighted by the dignitaries.
The Guest of Honour, Ms. Anupama, Academic Coordinator, Anurag Engg. College Hyderabad delivered an effective speech on women empowerment as to how a woman should fight for her rights. She should render her services without ignoring her responsibilities towards the betterment of family, community and for the country. Later Mr. Zafarrullah, HOD (EEE Dept.) spoke on the important role played by women in various fields. Next the gathering was addressed by the Dr. Venugopal Reddy, Director of the college who shared his personal experiences about the girl child. Dr A Padmaja, Principal of the college enlightened the audience with the history of International Women’s Day.Her speech on women’s emancipation threw light on welfare of women community and their success in various roles as a daughter, mother and wife. Chief Guest, Bhavana laid importance on how women now a days have succeeded in their professional fields by demonstrating various strategies and developing interpersonal skills. She related the practical experiences in our daily life to philosophy which paves way for us to succeed ethically.
Our beloved principal Dr. Padmaja presented a memento to our chief guest as a token of gratitude. Ms. Srilatha, Academic Coordinator presented a memento to guest of honour Ms. Anupama.
Our young and dynamic girl students enthusiastically participated in an essay writing competition on the topic “Inspiring Change in Women”. They were awarded prizes for their heartfelt essays. The celebration ended with colourful cultural programmes like dandiya, classical dances, dumb charades, quiz, skit and songs sung by the students.
