Raksha Bandhan means “the tie or knot of protection”, where “Raksha” refers to protection and “Bandhan” refers to the verb to bind. Together, the festival represents the eternal love of a brother-sister relationship as well as a pledge to defend and support one another for eternity. On such a significant day, Team HOPE visited an orphanage to celebrate the festival of love by spending time with those who long for the love and compassion of a family. We tied Rakhi’s, gave chocolates, and gave presents with the promise of protecting them and their futures.
