TASK LOCATION : Errapenta Village, Nallamala Forest, Achampet.

EVENT SUMMARY :

The team of SC VJIT initiated the TRIBAL PROJECT with an objective of improving the poor living conditions of the tribal community. Upon surveying a village named Errapenta in Achampet (Nallamala Forest) where the people of the Chenchu Tribe reside, we found out that one of their major issue was the absence of street lights in their surroundings. As they live in the middle of thick forests, they are on a constant threat of being attacked by wild animals. The darkness also makes them impotent to carry on with their regular jobs and hurting themselves when they go out during the night hours.

As a part of ROSHNI – Setting up solar street lights in a tribal village, we installed 20 Street Lights and 2 Solar Lights in the village neighbourhood too. The solar lights are powered with solar panels which work even in case of power cuts. The villagers now have proper lighting at all times making their mobility easier and safer. The street lights not only light up the streets but also their lives by increasing their quality of living.

VJIT is just a average clg. Its neither bad nor good thats how i felt when i studied, factuality is good, supportive bit management isn't.
