EVENT SUMMARY :
The Government school is a primary help centre which caters to the needs of the local underprivileged children by educating them in addition to providing them with mid-day meals and water. On surveying the Government school in Dhannaram, Vikarabad, we found that the school gets it’s water supply from the ‘Mission
Bhageeratha’ project. Thereafter the water gets stored in a cement tank. We observed that the drinking water stored in the tank is contaminated with dirt and insects even after thoroughly being cleaned twice or thrice a month which makes the water unsuitable for drinking.
Therefore, we set up a 50 lph water purifier which filters the water and makes it safe for drinking. Safe drinking water is now within the reach of the children and the staff of the school.
