The Association for Computing Machinery The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is an international learned society for computing. It was founded in 1947, and is the world’s largest scientific and educational computing society. ACM publishes over 50 journals including the prestigious Journal of the ACM, and two general magazines for computer professionals, Communications of the ACM (also known as Communications or CACM) and Queue. ACM fosters growth in the computing community through its more than 180 professional and more than 680 student chapters worldwide. Regardless of size or location, every ACM chapter offers members a wealth of benefits, including access to critical research and the opportunity to establish a personal networking system in the region.ACM brings together computing educators, researchers, and professionals to inspire dialogue, share resources, and address the field’s challenges.
