The Women Empowerment Cell of VJIT organized a vibrant Virtual Bathukamma Celebration on 16th October 2020, commemorating the rich cultural heritage of Telangana and celebrating the spirit of unity and sisterhood. Amid the challenges posed by the pandemic, the event was held online, bringing together faculty, staff, and students in a joyful expression of tradition and festivity.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from women across departments, all dressed in traditional attire, embodying the festive spirit. Participants sang harmonious Bathukamma songs, stacked beautiful seasonal flowers, and showcased their cultural pride and togetherness, even in a virtual setting.
Dr. A. Padmaja, Principal, along with Mrs. Sri Latha, Academic Coordinator, Dr. Srujana, Head of the Department (EEE), and Dr. Pallavi Badry, Head of the Department (Civil), were among the many who actively joined the celebration. Their presence, along with that of the lady faculty and staff, added warmth and unity to the virtual gathering.
The event concluded with the distribution of sweets and expressions of joy, making the online celebration memorable and meaningful. It reinforced the importance of staying connected with one’s roots and traditions, even in challenging times.
Through such initiatives, the VJIT Women Empowerment Cell continues to foster a sense of cultural appreciation, community bonding, and empowerment among its members, ensuring that heritage and identity remain integral to holistic education and personal growth.
