The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology organized an industry visit to the Museum of Old System Practices of 1st Generation Computers at Raja Bahadur Venkat Rama Reddy Telangana State Police Academy on 10th February 2023.
This visit was specially arranged for B.Tech 1st Year students of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) and Data Science, offering them a unique opportunity to explore the evolution of technology and its integration into various fields of policing and forensics.
Key Highlights of the Visit
The students explored the following galleries and facilities:
- Arms Gallery – Dr. Hankins’s Museum: A historical display of weaponry and tools used in law enforcement.
- Communication Gallery: Showcasing advancements in communication technologies used by the police.
- Forensics Science Gallery: Insights into the role of technology in criminal investigations and forensic analysis.
- Computer Gallery: A deep dive into the evolution of computing, including 1st-generation computers and their applications.
- Fire Range: A practical demonstration of the safety protocols and training methodologies used by law enforcement.
This visit offered students an educational experience, allowing them to see the practical applications of computer science in law enforcement and public safety.
The initiative successfully broadened students’ horizons, connecting their academic learning with real-world applications in fields like forensics, communication, and public safety.
