FDP on Grid Management

A Two day National Level Faculty Development Programme on “Grid Management” was organized by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology on 12th & 13th December, 2013.

The workshop started on 12th morning with Inaugural ceremony. Md. Anwaruddin, Director, Grid Operation & Transmission was the chief Guest.

On 12th December, 2013 in the morning session Prof. N.L.V. Prasadarao delivered a lecture on “Grid Management –Overview and computerized load Dispatch Centers” with his experience.  His lecture motivated the participants.

In the afternoon session Prof. M.S.R.Sarma,SE/Protection Retd.,delivered a lecture on “Power system operation & control”. In this topic, he explained about the different types of power systems operations.

On 13th December, 2013, Dr.P.V.Satya Ramesh, DE/Open Access, APTRANSCO, delivered a lecture on “ABT & open access” in the morning session. In the Afternoon session Prof.K.K.Sen

SE/MPSEB Retd, delivered a lecture on “Smart Grid”.

Later all the delegates were taken to State Load Dispatch Centre, Vidyut Soudha, Hyderabad for field visit. The concerned field engineers have demonstrated the “Generation Scheduling”, “Load Scheduling” and “Grid operation procedures are followed in real time”. All the delegates appreciated the programme with good feedback requesting to continue to organize similar programs for 3 days.
