Bathukamma, the floral festival that symbolizes the cultural identity of Telangana, was celebrated with immense joy and traditional fervor at Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology on October 1, 2016. The event, organized by the Women Empowerment Cell, brought together lady faculty, staff, and students in a vibrant display of tradition, unity, and celebration.
Bathukamma, which begins on Mahalaya Amavasya and continues for nine days, is more than just a festival—it is an expression of womanhood, devotion, and cultural pride. Dressed in colorful traditional attire, the women of VJIT enthusiastically participated in creating beautiful floral arrangements and danced around the Bathukamma, singing folk songs that echoed the festive spirit across the campus.
The celebration fostered a sense of togetherness and cultural belonging, especially among the younger generation. The event also served as a reminder of the importance of preserving our rich traditions while promoting unity among women from diverse backgrounds.
With smiles, songs, and flowers, the VJIT Bathukamma celebrations stood as a vibrant symbol of women’s strength, beauty, and cultural roots.
